Mobile-Friendly Website – 1 Minute Marketing Tips #5. Since the beginning of smartphones and tablets, people have been using them to shop online. But the number of people that use smart devices to shop online is increasing every year too. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to you that the trend of mobile device shopping continues to grow.

Smart devices are everywhere!
Each year the number of mobile device shoppers explodes, especially with the Millennials! But if your business cannot be found or your site loads too slow, you’re losing sales. And those potential buyers are going to your competition with their money.
But let’s just say that you have a website as most businesses do. So then the next step is to answer these questions about your website:
- Does it take more than 3 seconds to load on a mobile device?
- Is your website easy to use on a tablet or smartphone?
- How difficult is it to navigate around your website?
- Do you have to scroll side to side to see all of your content or images?
- Are you able to click on your navigation without having to zoom-in?
Mobile-Friendly Website: some astonishing facts
Look, if you have to do anything other than using a thumb or finger to browse your website, you’re losing customers. So just to make sure you understand that, here’s a rephrasing for you – if your website is not mobile-friendly, you’re losing a lot of money!
For example, ComScore conducts surveys and captures statistics on people’s online buying habits. In 2013 ComScore states that 68% of Americans (18 – 65+) use multiple devices to shop online. In other words, people use a tablet or smartphone to browse or learn more and then return later on a laptop or desktop to buy.
By December 2015, the number of Americans using multiple devices to shop grew to 76%! And that’s not even talking about the estimated 5 billion smartphone owners in the world projected by 2019.
But do you really need one?
In a word, absolutely! Also noted in the ComScore study, of the Americans in the 18 – 30 age group, more than 25% used only a smartphone or tablet to do their online shopping. So do you think it’s safe to assume that number will continue to grow over the next 5, 10, or even 20 years?
Since you now know that to be true; is it also safe to assume that your business having a Mobile-Friendly Website is pretty damn important too?
