I’ve been saying it since 2008…

Since 2008 or thereabout, I have been saying that video is huge and is a powerful marketing tool. In fact, I talked about the effectiveness of video in online advertising here in The Age of Video Marketing – Charles Snyder Raw #65, published during April 2018.

Just a few stats about Facebook and videos

Additionally, Millennials (aged 25 – 34 years old) view more videos online than any other age group! According to a study conducted by WordStream.

So now we come back to one of my first questions; are you using any videos in your ads, branding or marketing? If not, do you think it might be time to get started? And if you are using some video, do you feel it might be worth doing more of?

Harness the Power of Video!

First, all you really need to make videos is a cellphone, a laptop, and an Internet connection. You don’t need expensive equipment, a big production budget or even a camera operator to get started. But you will need some creativity and a clear idea of who you’re trying to reach.

Second, get your face on camera. I mean a close-up of your face talking about your business and your products or services. Since seeing someone’s facial expressions and eyes begins to build trust. Also, it may take some practice at the beginning, but you will get better at it.

Lastly, switch it up and keep the video interesting. So in other words your videos shouldn’t just be a talking head. Use props, backgrounds, motions, etc. to mix it up visually. But always demonstrate value no matter what.
