25 Years In Business: Wolfen Web Design to ROI Ninjas CRM
25 Years In Business: I started this journey in 1996 with a simple aim: to make web design easy, reliable, and effective. Then, clients wanted more, so I added SEO, website hosting, and the unsexy backbone services that keep sites alive. The frustrating techy-shit like DNS, email, WordPress, SQL maintenance, and support that actually answers questions.

Fix What’s Leaking. 20-point audit. 90-day plan. 3 fixes first. For serious businesses only: Start My Marketing X-Ray!! >>
In 2015, after being homeless and losing everything but the shirt on my back, I rebuilt from zero. With the help of Ann, that rebuild became C E Snyder Marketing LLC. I launched BotNinja on Messenger, learned fast, iterated even faster, and evolved it into ROI Ninjas CRM.
Also, along the way, I built ROI Ninjas University to teach the systems and started shaping CRM GPT. SO I put real answers and real solutions within reach of small business owners. But without the usual guru garbage.
The Journey: 1999 → 2025
I launched Wolfen Web Design in September 1999. Simple sites that loaded fast and made phones ring. It was table layouts, easy cascading stylesheets, and some hand-coding. But the focus was on speed and clarity, which never left.
By 2004
I added hosting because clients needed one accountable partner. If the site went down at 2 a.m., I was the guy who fixed it. No finger-wagging between vendors. But that move taught me the value of owning the stack and shaving time off every fix.
In 2006
As hosting grew from “nice to have” to mission-critical, I rebranded to River Valley Hosting & Web Design. Design + hosting under one roof. But we kept promises most shops avoid: uptime, performance, and straight talk when things broke.
By 2008
SEO became one of my core offers. I tested, broke things, and rebuilt smarter. Structure, content, and speed beat gimmicks. Ranking turned into reliable revenue for clients. The lesson: substance scales, tricks don’t.
2009-2014 The Market Shifted
The economy tanked, businesses closed, and things were lean. However, the lesson was: websites alone weren’t enough. Because ads got pricier, attention got shorter, and Customer Acquisition Costs ballooned. But businesses that won did two things better than everyone else: the Customer Experience and Follow-Up.
So I moved from “build a site” to building a reliable revenue system. Traffic, capture, score, book, close, repeat.
2015-2022
After losing almost everything, I rebuilt as C E Snyder Marketing LLC with a no-BS mandate: results first. BotNinja (Messenger automation) pushed me into real workflows. That work evolved into ROI Ninjas CRM, built around the plays that move cash flow: fast contact, tight lead scoring, clear pipelines, and honest reporting.
2023
Also, enablement mattered; I launched ROI Ninjas University. Short lessons, practical workflows, and owner-level training. Then we started shaping CRM GPT to answer questions of small business teams. For example, “What do I do next?” So now teams can start more “doing” and stop guessing.
2024-2025
The blueprint was clear: compound the plays that never stop working. Speed-to-lead, scoring, funnel automation, local listings, reviews management, and no-BS analytics. Every improvement shaved minutes, saved budget, and closed more deals. For us as well as our clients.
25 Years In Business: What Changed

Profit-Based LTV reality check. Brains, budget, backbone required: Get Your Free Small Biz Tools Pack Now!! >>
- From “build a site” to build a revenue system.
- From pretty pages to pipelines that convert.
- From manual headaches and hassles with follow-up to automated, under-five-minute responses.
What Hasn’t Changed
- Straight talk. Accountability. Simple math.
- Truth over bullshit.
- Speed, reliability, and systems over chaos.
10 Hard-Won Lessons
- Speed wins every damn time. First call usually wins the deal.
- The fortune is in the follow-up. Follow-up is a system. Not wishful thinking,
- Track CAC/LTV/payback like your business depends on it (because it does).
- Own your stack. More services = more problems and more expenses.
- Dominate Local Search, making it easier to attract more leads.
- Content is king. It must sell. Teach, then point to the next step.
- Lead Scoring saves time; it removes the guesswork about who to talk to first.
- Process before platforms. Design the workflow that creates the results first.
- Small changes add up. Measure results. Adjust. Iterate. Repeat.
- Character counts. Do the work. Keep your word. The market notices.
But the biggest lesson of them all was this: you don’t fail as long as you keep getting back up. If you keep fighting, sooner or later, you find a way to win.
What’s Next
- Speed-to-Lead everywhere and in everything we do.
- Lead Scoring & Simplified Funnels tuned for fewer clicks and more sales.
- Owner enablement via RNU and CRM GPT so teams move faster with fewer mistakes.
- Less noise. More proof. Systems that more than pay for themselves.
