I Lost Everything
When my days as a firefighter came to an end, I Lost Everything! As a result, I had no job, no income, no place to call home and I was all alone. Additionally, I questioned every choice I have ever made in my life. So I did a lot of ugly thinking in those days. Basically, it just sucked!
But then I manned up!
Since publishing the first version, Injured Firefighter โ Our Why #1, I have struggled with revealing this part of my life. Nearly two years of my life were spent in and out of hospitals, racking up tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills. More debt than I have ever had in my life. So during that time, my business suffered too as I eventually lost every customer as well.
But I believe we create our destiny
So I did a lot of reading, listening and thinking when I took a job as a truck driver. I hated it, I dreaded going to work and I despised every second I was there. It made me sick in the stomach just thinking about it to the point where I couldnโt even eat before going to work because of the stress.
But I also knew that I had no choice and that I didnโt have to stay there forever. As a result, I researched and learned everything I could absorb about sales, online marketing, and social media. So I did what I had to do until I was finally able walk away from that horrible truck driving job!
What a frigging relief that was!
Since then, I have been working on rebuilding my business as an online marketing agency. I have had some successes and I feel like I am just three feet from hitting gold. So I just have to keep digging, make more offers, produce great content, and the final breakthrough will follow.
In summary, I have seen the power of direct response marketing with social media and the transformational effects it can have on peopleโs lives. In fact, if you are reading this, you most likely found it because of the skill set I am talking about. So that is why I do what I do; it just works!
