June 2022 Updates – News & Announcements.
Happy 4th of July!! It’s one of my favorite times to get together with family and friends. There are cookouts, hanging out, and grilling some good eats. We celebrate our freedoms, count our blessings, and discuss our hopes for the future.
But there is a dark cloud…
However, there is a dark cloud hovering over us all this year. Inflation is cutting deep into low and middle-class families’ budgets. Also, it is hurting small businesses all across this nation and the world.
But now there’s talk about a recession and people are getting worried. Additionally, crypto has taken a crap, wiping out billions of dollars in investments. And a lot of business owners are wondering what if anything they can do about it.
What can you do about it?
I am starting a new series of short videos on Instagram and TikTok that answer that question. We are also looking at starting a podcast shortly too. But all of those videos and podcasts will also deal with a wide variety of topics relating to marketing, lead generation, follow-up, and more.
However, to answer the big question of what you can do about it now is advertising. So the single biggest thing you can do to “recession-proof” your business today is marketing and advertising. As we saw back in 2008, those that doubled down on marketing and advertising rebounded much faster from that recession.
This is a painful admission on my part, and I’m uncomfortable as hell talking about it, but I didn’t advertise in 2008. I sat back, like so many other Americans, and hoped for the best. I lost my business by 2010 and by 2014, I lost my health, my job, and almost everything else! It sucked!!
June 2022 Updates: I’m on a mission!
When I was standing on stage at Petco Park in San Diego a few weeks ago, I wanted to make an impact. I was there because I was Geneius of the Year 2022, graduating at the top of two classes out of nearly 200 marketers from all around the world. So they asked me to speak for a few minutes about my background and how I became a marketer.
But before I was called to the stage, Damon John (The People Shark), was on stage before me talking about mindset. He talked about a lot of things that hit home for me. So on the spot, I scrapped what I was going to talk about, changed my speech, and wanted to leave an impact.
So from that chilly day on stage, I made up my mind I was going to have a positive impact. As Ed Mylett encourages, I chose to be “The One” for my family, my fiance, my customers, and my team. Because when you change your thinking away from the impossible, you become completely unstoppable.
