Sometimes You Need A Break
Sometimes You Need A Break
Sometimes You Need A Break – Charles Snyder Raw #67. Well, the title says it all, sometimes you just need to take a breather and clear your mind. Since I have had quite a bit on my mind, I guess today is just one of those kinds of days. So I did take some time away to refresh my mind and to put things into perspective.

It’s just one of those days…
I’m sure you’ve had those kinds of days too. But the hardest part of being a small business owner is just taking some time off occasionally. Which is why I make it a point to not do anything business-related on Sundays. However, sometimes even that is not enough and I need more downtime.
Getting a new perspective
When distractions pile up and your focus is worn down, the only thing you can effectively do is relax. Take a nap, go for a drive, whatever you need to do in order to clear your mind for an hour. As a result, at least for me, I find I am able to think more clearly and focus.
So you may be asking yourself why I do this. I do it because I know that when you have your nose right up against the problem or distraction, you cannot see everything. In other words, I’m talking about the big picture and how the problem fits into the greater scheme of things.
Sometimes You Need A Break and just rest
Anyway, I talked about some of this before in Life Balance – Charles Snyder Raw #3. In that episode I discuss Ann dropping some hints at me to take some time away to rest and relax. So maybe that’s why she says I’m stubborn and hard-headed sometimes?
As a result, I have found that it helps to limit the hours that I work on my business. For years the majority of my waking hours were spent working in my business. But the problem was that it didn’t bear fruit, so it didn’t take long to be burnt out.
Now I have set a schedule where after 6 PM, I go do something else. So I’ll read, watch a movie, go for a walk, play a video game, etc. But now I am also able to better focus on my PPAs when I am working.
