Powerful Flexible Simple WordPress – Charles Snyder Raw #92. Once again today I find myself answering more questions coming to us from Quora. So this time I am answering a question about using WordPress as a means of communicating between teams.
But first, here’s the original question:
“Is it a good idea to use WordPress as an internal information sharing platform between two software testing teams for daily reports?”
From my personal experiences…
First I can tell you that there are many options since WordPress is the most widely supported platform there is. So what I mean is that there are literally thousands of themes and plugins available. Which makes customization for any situation a breeze to do.
Additionally, I believe WordPress is one of the most strongest as well as easiest to use Content Management Systems available today. It’s constantly being updated with security fixes too, plus new features are being added all the time. In fact the support community for plugins, themes and extensions is second to none.
But don’t get me wrong, there are other options available such as Drupal and Joomla to name just two. Drupal especially in the past few years has come a long way, but it’s still not even a close second to WordPress when it comes to support and options. Either way you must weigh your options as well as the pros and cons of each platform.
So in conclusion, yes WordPress can fill that need with some planning and forethought. Just do your research before making the leap and the rest should be a piece of cake!
