Facebook Ads: Images vs Video
Facebook Ads: Images vs Video
Facebook Ads: Images vs Video – Charles Snyder Raw #99. So I received another question from Quora, asking which is better; images or video for Facebook ads. Since I have seen there were already several answers there, I chose to focus my answer more on what wasn’t covered.
You know, like I usually do in these videos and articles.

Video is huge!
Since the original question was a little hard to read, here is my best approximation of what was being asked:
“Which advertisement media is more likely to [get more engagement from] an audience [on Facebook], video or images?”

Hook, Line and Sinker
First, comparing images and videos is like comparing apples to oranges. Typically it depends on several factors, not the least of which deals with who you are trying to market to. So for example, marketing to Millennials tends to work better with short, entertaining video ads. On the other hand, marketing to Baby-Boomers tends to work better with high-quality images.
Second, you have just 3 seconds to hook someone in on your video, so get to the point fast. Save the lengthy explainer videos for your website or trade shows because most people view just a few seconds and move on. So you need to hook them fast, provide the feel-good solution to line them in, and deliver the call to action. I like to call this the “Hook, Line and Sinker” method to tell a short story.
Some final thoughts
Last but not least, you need a rock-solid offer in the video and your ad copy. Ultimately the only thing that most people are interested in, is what’s in it for them? So you better make sure that you make it crystal clear, upfront, and do so quickly.
Of course I also cover some additional concepts in the video. Check it out!
PLEASE NOTE: I no longer answer questions like Facebook Ads: Images vs Video on Quora. There are no checks and balances in place for the rampant censorship by some moderators. And to make matters worse, inquiries about the anonymous censorship that goes on there have yet to see any reply. Since that is the case, I will continue to help others, I just won’t be wasting my time on that website. So Say Goodbye Quora!
