Driving Disasters
Driving Disasters
Driving Disasters – Charles Snyder Raw #78. So here I am on deployment in Alabama for the recent spat of tornadoes that ripped through. I spent the better part of the day (last Thursday) dealing with a broken fuel line. As in I was just sitting along the side of a back country road in Georgia.

When it rains, it pours…
So there I was, about half way to the Alabama-Georgia state line when the unit started spraying diesel fuel all over the place. There were two other units following me because we were heading for the Anniston area and I’ve been there a few times. But I knew something was up when the unit behind me kept going over the line and flashing his high beams at me.
Compounding the issues
First of all, I know from experience that deployments mean long days for me. We were heading into a disaster area and there wasn’t going to be a whole lot of spare time; I had work to do once I got there. But my biggest frustration is that it took another six hours just to get fuel line repairs. So I finally arrived at my hotel in Anniston, AL around 11PM that evening.
Anyway, this only compounded the problems I was having with my laptop and Microsoft. So what I really needed was a good solid day to install Windows again and all of my other software tools. Because without it, I wasn’t going to be able to publish any new content, edit videos, etc.
Driving Disasters and other news
Since last week, I finally got my laptop running after a few days and installed all my software too. But I was working 12+ hours a day, seven days a week since arriving. So here I am a week later, still working on getting caught back up with everything.
As a result, what should have taken a day or two for me to fix, has taken much longer. So now as I continue working long hours, I have to make due with content creation in my spare time. Which is why I look very tired in most of my videos this past week.
