Free vs Paid Traffic
Free vs Paid Traffic – 5 Minutes With Charles #26. If you have been active online at all, you’ve probably seen at least one debate like this. A small group will tout the benefits of buying advertising on social media, etc. But a larger group will argue the merits of getting something for nothing.

You get what you pay for!
Regardless of what you want to be true, there are a few things to consider when it comes to driving more people to your offers. Because the reality is that you get what you pay for when it comes to driving more traffic to your website, blog, or your offer.
But what’s the difference?
The biggest difference between buying traffic versus no-cost leads is that paying for people to see your stuff is proactive. Just the opposite is true of free traffic, it’s passive, it’s reactive, and it’s inconsistent. But another consideration is that people are much more likely to buy from you when they know who you are.
So people get to know who you are by your marketing and advertising. Plus, actively seeking out the folks that are likely to buy your products or services produces better results on a consistent basis. Because if you are getting too much business to handle, you can turn your ads off.
Try doing that with print, radio, or TV.
Free vs Paid Traffic: some final thoughts
There’s nothing wrong with getting some leads for no money out of your pocket. If you can get them that is. So don’t completely ignore the freebies.
On the other hand, advertising actively brings in leads or traffic while building your brand. Which makes it a lot easier to capture the free sales too. So why not do both types to maximize your income?
Additionally, do what you can to build your own audience instead of always renting someone else’s. At the bare minimum capture names, email addresses and phone numbers every time you make a sale. Because that is your “warm” audience and that list is marketing gold!
